What is Yoga?
Yoga is a sanskrit word which means to create union of the body, mind and soul. Yoga is a science of harmonizing the body, mind and soul. Within yoga there are physical exercises/postures , breathing techniques, mental exercises, and spiritual exercises. All of these techniques work to bring the three fold man (body,mind and soul) into harmony.
Adult Yoga Classes
At Lotus Shala, we teach a very simple and effective yoga series that is good for all age groups. We believe though one should be challenged a yoga practice should not be strenuous. Our classes are enjoyable and rewarding, we have one of the fastest rates of getting students into half lotus and meditation, due to our simple and effective series.
Childrens Yoga Classes
Children’s Yoga has to be more fun then adults yoga. So we play as different animals to go through the sequence of yoga poses. Your Children will play through the different sequence of poses, learning wonderful stress reducing techniques at a young age.
Special Needs Yoga
We are teaching Yoga to the children at the Carrie Brazer Center for Autism. We are seeing wonderful success and results, we have been asked to continue on two new contracts with them teaching 3 days a week, there after school. If you have a special needs center, or would like private instruction for a child or family member with any form of special needs, we have specific routines developed for them.
